My personal favorite part is the bizarre inclusion of Bigfoot (who I guess is just in Ohio, and not the pacific northwest now) as not just a weird plot element, but a full fledged secret skater. It’s all a lot sillier than the awkwardly aged ethnic humor of the rest of the game, and thus it stands the test of time far better.
This place has every problem ranging from wasp infestations, houses that look condemned on the best of days, Sasquatch lurking in the trees, and worst of all: the continued presence of Bam Margera. Unlike in the whirlwind tour of national stereotypes to be found in the rest of the game, Skateopia finds it’s weirdo identity in sillier, and less problematic places. One with the best secret character in the game(Bigfoot himself), the lamest guest character (a literal child), and one of the most bizarre layouts I’ve ever seen in a Tony Hawk level. Described on it’s Wikipedia page as “ a demented mess that meets halfway between an anarchistic Mad Maxian Thunderdome and a utopian skateboard society” and located smack dab in backwoods Ohio, I wish so desperately I could go there in real life. I had to look up and see if Skatopia is a real place, and apparently, it totally is.
